In our collection: La Parisienne is a deluxe French artist’s book published in Paris by Joseph Foret. It brings together unpublished texts by Cécil Saint-Laurent with 20 original colour lithographs by Jean-Gabriel Domergue, the celebrated painter of elegant Parisian women. The work was conceived as a true livre de luxe: all lithographs were printed directly from the artist’s stones, the print run was strictly limited, and the stones were destroyed after printing.
The entire edition comprises only 197 copies, divided by paper quality into several categories, from a handful of ultra-luxury impressions on Japon Nacre to larger—but still exclusive—runs on fine European papers. Each copy was individually numbered and signed.
Our copy bears the number CXXXI (131) and belongs to the category:
“117 copies on Marais, pur fil paper, numbered LXXVI to CXCII.”
It is therefore part of the main luxury edition, printed on high-quality Marais paper and hand-signed by Jean-Gabriel Domergue. A fully authentic, collectible example of this prestigious limited edition, combining original art, literature, and fine book craftsmanship.
