Artist: Vasili Strigin

Strigin, Vasili Vasilevich (1918 - 2009) was born on October 1st 1918 in the village Uspenka in Olkhovskiy district of the Volgograd region. In 1939 graduated from the Art School of Stalingrad. He participated in the Great Patriotic War from July 2, 1941. In the postwar years he contnued to work as an artist. He be- came a member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1962. He was elected twice the chairman of the Volgograd branch of the Union of Artists.
