Aleksei Andreevich Prokopenko was born in 1926 in Vorontsovka, the Voronezh region (Russia). He began exhibiting in 1949 and was active in Volgograd. Important shows include “Soviet Russia” in Moscow in 1960. Prokopenko participated in the panorama painting of the battle for Stalingrad, now in a museum in Volgograd.
